WES FRENCH
Agronomic Consultant

Wes French joined Integrated Ag Services as the agronomy information advisor in 2021 and was recently promoted to agronomic consultant. He received his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Systems Management from The Ohio State University, with a minor in farm management.

His two favorite farming tools include Ag Leader SMS and drones. “The hard work (and sometimes frustration) that is put into managing farm data in this software is one of the most powerful tools used for making informed agronomic decisions on the farm. Drones are useful and powerful gadgets to utilize to scout fields for weeds, insect damage, plant disease and plant stand evaluations. Drones are fun to operate and makes an agronomist’s job much more efficient.”

Wes likes both spring planting and fall harvest. “I like spring planting because the pre-season planning that occurs throughout the winter is implemented. The spring often presents challenges, risks and decisions to work through that could potentially impact the remainder of the growing season. Also, fall harvest is exciting because it allows the agronomist and grower to learn how their agronomic decisions played out.”

His favorite in-field meal: “It’s a toss-up between Raising Cane’s chicken fingers and pizza.”

Best advice he’s ever received: See failure as a road and not a wall.

When not working, Wes collects antique tractors, loves to fish, kayaks a lot and likes to work-on/build things.
